Ingredients
- all-purpose flour – 4 cups / 520 g
- granulated sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 g
- baking powder – 1 tbsp / 15 g
- cardamom pods (ground) – 1 tsp / 2 g
- salt – 1/2 tsp / 3 g
- milk – 1 cup / 240 ml
- butter (melted) – 1/2 cup / 115 g
- egg – 1 large
- vanilla extract – 1 tsp / 5 ml
- cinnamon sugar (for topping) – 1/4 cup / 60 g
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cardamom, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two logs, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool.
- Once cooled, slice the logs into thin pieces.
- Reduce oven temperature to 300°F (150°C).
- Place the slices back on the baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until crispy and golden. Cool completely before serving.
