Ingredients

  • Phyllo Dough – 1 package / 16-18 sheets
  • Unsalted Butter – 1 cup / 240 g
  • Pistachios, ground – 1.5 cups / 180 g
  • Sugar – 1 cup / 200 g
  • Water – 1 cup / 240 ml
  • Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon / 15 ml
  • Honey – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a small pot over low heat.
  3. Lay a sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface, brush with butter, and repeat with 4 layers.
  4. Evenly sprinkle ground pistachios over the dough.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a cylinder and cut into 2-inch pieces.
  6. Place the pieces on a baking sheet, brush tops with more butter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, lemon juice, and honey; bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Pour the hot syrup over the baked pastries.
  10. Let them soak and absorb the syrup as they cool.
