- olive oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- sesame seeds – 1 cup / 150 g
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup of the lukewarm water with the sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, remaining water, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Divide the dough into equal portions (4-6 pieces), roll each into a rope, and shape into circles.
- Dip each circle lightly in water, then coat thoroughly with sesame seeds.
- Place the rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
