Ingredients

  • skate fish – 800 g, cleaned and cut into portions
  • soy sauce – 3 tbsp / 45 ml
  • red chili paste (gochujang) – 2 tbsp / 30 g
  • garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • ginger – 1 inch, grated
  • green onions – 3 stalks, chopped
  • sesame oil – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
  • sugar – 1 tbsp / 15 g
  • toasted sesame seeds – 1 tbsp / 9 g
  • red peppers – 2, sliced

Instructions

  1. Clean the skate fish thoroughly and cut it into manageable portions.
  2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, red chili paste, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
  3. Coat the skate fish with the marinade and allow it to rest for at least 20 minutes.
  4. Place the marinated skate fish onto a steamer tray, spread sliced red peppers and green onions over it.
  5. Steam the fish over boiling water for 15-20 minutes, until the fish becomes tender.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
