Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 2 cups / 240 g
  • baking powder – 1 tablespoon / 15 g
  • salt – 1 teaspoon / 5 g
  • water – 3/4 cup / 180 ml
  • vegetable oil (for frying) – 2 cups / 480 ml

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, mixing continuously until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until elastic.
  4. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into triangles.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  7. Carefully fry dough triangles in hot oil until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Remove fry jacks from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
