Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 4 cups / 480 g
  • granulated sugar – 1/4 cup / 50 g
  • salt – 1 teaspoon
  • instant yeast – 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • warm milk – 1 cup / 240 ml
  • unsalted butter – 1/4 cup / 56 g (melted)
  • large eggs – 2
  • light brown sugar – 1 cup / 200 g
  • cinnamon – 1 tablespoon
  • pecans – 1 cup / 120 g (chopped)
  • unsalted butter (for caramel glaze) – 1/2 cup / 112 g
  • light corn syrup – 1/2 cup / 120 ml

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast. Stir in warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Knead until a soft dough forms.
  2. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  3. Roll out dough into a rectangle shape. Spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with light brown sugar and cinnamon. Add chopped pecans evenly.
  4. Roll the dough tightly, starting from one long side. Slice into 8 even pieces.
  5. For the caramel glaze, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in light brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
  6. Pour the glaze into a greased baking pan. Arrange the sliced rolls on top.
  7. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a plate to serve.
