Ingredients

  • beef chuck – 1 lb / 450 g, cubed
  • pork shoulder – 1 lb / 450 g, cubed
  • smoked sausage – 0.5 lb / 225 g, sliced
  • onions – 3 large / 500 g, finely chopped
  • red bell pepper – 2 / 250 g, chopped
  • garlic cloves – 4, minced
  • potatoes – 3 large / 600 g, diced
  • paprika – 2 tbsp / 15 g
  • cayenne pepper – 1/2 tsp / 1 g
  • caraway seeds – 1 tsp / 2 g
  • bay leaf – 2
  • vegetable stock – 4 cups / 1 liter
  • salt – to taste
  • black pepper – to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook until golden brown.
  2. Add garlic and red bell peppers to the pot and sauté for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in beef chuck and pork shoulder. Cook until all sides are browned.
  4. Mix in paprika, cayenne pepper, and caraway seeds. Stir well to combine.
  5. Include smoked sausage, potatoes, and bay leaves. Pour in vegetable stock.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 to 3 hours until the meat and potatoes are tender.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste before serving.
