Ingredients

  • ground beef – 500 g / 1.1 lbs
  • pork fat – 100 g / 0.22 lbs
  • onion – 1 large, finely chopped
  • fresh cilantro – 1/2 cup / 10 g, chopped
  • fresh parsley – 1/2 cup / 10 g, chopped
  • fenugreek – 1 tsp / 2 g
  • ground coriander – 1 tsp / 2 g
  • paprika – 1 tsp / 2 g
  • ground black pepper – 1/2 tsp / 1 g
  • salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
  • pomegranate seeds – 1/4 cup / 40 g
  • butter – 2 tbsp / 30 g

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef and pork fat until well combined.
  2. Add chopped onion, cilantro, parsley, fenugreek, ground coriander, paprika, black pepper, and salt to the meat mixture.
  3. Knead the mixture well for about 5 minutes until everything is well incorporated.
  4. Shape the mixture into 8 oval patties.
  5. Press a few pomegranate seeds into each patty for a burst of flavor.
  6. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  7. Place the patties in the pan and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve hot with fresh pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top.
